A Simple Meditation Technique To Help You Achieve Your Goals

Hello and welcome to NextGoal.Com. Here at NextGoal we aim to aspire, encourage and support you as you leap through obstacles and achieve your goals.

Take Time To Breathe Life Into Your Dreams

Who taught you to dream? To go for what you want and to be the best you can be? I am thankful that my parents are alive and through the way they live their lives I learn the power of dreams and physically working towards my goals from my father. My mother teaches me the quiet persistence and power of prayer.

If you seek a more spiritual approach to goal setting, the following poem is written to inspire you to meditate, to go within, to reconnect and reclaim the power and inheritance of your guides and mentors to guide you along the way.

Prepare Yourself To Meditate

I invite you to have a pen and journal to hand, to find a quiet space, away from noise and distraction, and then when you are ready read the following poem, The Midwife, quietly to yourself. As you read hold in mind your goal. Read ‘The Midwife’ with faith, knowledge, trust and belief that your prayers will be answered and in time, the tools, techniques and tips you seek to achieve your goals will appear.

Next…

Once you have read the poem, close your eyes, release attachment to your goal and allow yourself to bathe in the silence for 10-20 minutes.

Open your eyes; remain seated and without a sound write your first thoughts, feelings and emotions in your journal. With practice, meditation allows your inner wisdom to shine through and the clarity and guidance you seek, people or things you need to do become clear.

The Midwife

c. Ntathu

The spirits of my ancestors are calling me home

Guiding, nurturing showing me the way

The voice of spirit echoes, vibrates within

Uplifting me higher and higher

Deeper and deeper I travel

Expanding. Contracting. Oscillating

To the sound of the beat

My breath is light, feathery calmness surrounds.

Around and around I travel covering great expanse of space – yet never far from home

Higher and higher I ascend

Transcending all I fear

To give birth to new life, new seeds and fruits of delight

To share as I offer my gifts to the world.

Thank You.

I have a meditation that I go through daily and in several situations. Give it a go and let us know how you got on. I should give this a try, see if the result is the same – or something new.

  2. What a wonderful way to give up the usual fretting about a goal.

    Thank you.

    • Yep, sure is. Sometimes fretting over goals uses so much energy whereas when we meditate and step outside the drama of our life we gain so much clarity and perspective. Do you have a daily meditation practice? Thx for sharing and posting your comments.

  3. I have a meditation that I go through daily and in several situations. I use it while I’m paddling in the ocean, or when I wake up in the morning, or go to bed at night. I use it to open a yoga practice or close a yoga practice or at sunset.

I have done it for years and the things I say to myself and to the universe change over time. So many have manifested I move to new thoughts and ideas. Its a wonderful practice.

  4. Hi Ntathu,
You have a way with words. They are gentle and powerful. The final part I found to be very moving.

  6. I grew up praying the Rosary, I left the Roman Catholic faith as a teenager and many years later I got to know a Psychiatrist (no, he wasn’t treating me) that knew Timothy Leary of 60′s California fame. He taught me Transcendental Meditation, he probably thought I was uptight. Some of my favorite times have been camping with my kids, I can recapture those moments by sitting in the back yard, remembering to breathe, closing my eyes and recalling my favorite scenes…like praying the Rosary when I was a kid; daydreams are excellent :)

  9. I think that I do something along these lines every time I sit down to write fiction, and often when I write in other forms. There is a different “pitch” to the thoughts (as in singing). I just don’t do it so consciously, if that makes sense. I should give this a try, see if the result is the same – or something new. ;)
